Tracing Stories; Stories Hidden in Objects

All cultures produce specific objects. We typically examine and appreciate their artistic or aesthetic value alone. Objects, however, are also memory repositories; they carry stories within them, ones that are bound to surprise us should we manage to discover them. Objects narrate old myths and stories lost in time. But, above all, they are filled with stories which have not yet been told.

This is a three-hour workshop run by Petrina Vassou and Pep Beltran (the Wandering Museum of Cultures from Spain) in co-operation with the Laboratory of Narrative Research of the English Department. It is the first seminar in the Narrative Crossings series organized by the Laboratory of Narrative Research for thus academic year (2018-2019).
