“Narrative Bodies and Poetic Language”

What is a narrative body? What is corporeal narratology? How can poetry be interpreted though our body movements and facial expressions? This seminar aspires to introduce participants to the unlimited possibilities of non-verbal narration by means of the performing arts. The instructors will combine written language with various drama techniques in a seminar that will explore the proposition that a critical analysis of poetry can be a performing practice.

Short Bio

H Κατερίνα Κυβετού γεννήθηκε στην Ζάκυνθο το 1986. Είναι απόφοιτη του Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών-Τμήμα Θεατρικών Σπουδών (2013) και της Δραματικής Σχολής Εθνικού Θεάτρου (2009). Έχει παρακολουθήσει μαθήματα κλασικού χορού ,πιάνου, τραγουδιού. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε θεατρικά σεμινάρια των Π. Μουστάκης (Σωματικότητα του λόγου), Ε. Σκότη (Ρεαλισμός), Τ. Καρκύκλας (Δραματοποίηση παραμυθιού), Δ. Δημητριάδης-Ν. Φύτας (Υποκριτική – Αυτοσχεδιασμός σε ανέκδοτο έργο) Π .Δεντάκης (Αφήγηση θεατρικών κειμένων), Γ. Περλέγκας (Η μάσκα του λόγου), Σ. Πάσχου (Σωματικό θέατρο). Στο θέατρο έχει συνεργαστεί με τους Τ. Λυκουρέσης “Αφιέρωμα στον Δ. Σολωμό”, Ζάκυνθος(2008), Γ. Χριστοδούλου “Χάνσεν και Γκρέτελ”, Ναύπλιο (2009), N. Lormeau ” Victor Hugo”,Grand Palais, Παρίσι ,στα πλαίσια συμμετοχής του Πανεπιστημίου Sorbonne Paris 3 (2011), Μ. Σεβαστοπούλου ” Το τέλος δε αυτής..δίστομος”, Aθήνα, Αγγέλων Βήμα (2011),”Σατωβριάνδου τότε και τώρα”, Αθήνα, Αγγέλων Βήμα(2012), M. Περάκη “Art Therapy”(2009), και έχει σκηνοθετήσει το “Human Constractions”- lecture performance, της Σοφίας Κονδυλιά, Εθνικό Μετσόβιο Πολυτεχνείο (Αθήνα, Λαύριο), Ρομάντζο, Ίδρυμα Μ. Κακογιάννης, Μ. Μουσικής, Φεστιβάλ χορού Θεσσαλονίκης κ.α. (2016).

Dr. Sophia Emmanouilidou received her Ph.D. from the School of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, with distinctions in 2003 and on a full scholarship from the Foundation of National Scholarships in Greece (IKY). She has been a Fulbright grantee at the University of Texas, Austin and the John F. Kennedy Institute (JFKI) for North American Studies, Freie Universitat of Berlin. She has published several articles on Chicana/o literature and identity-focused theories. She has lectured at the University of the Aegean, Department of Social Anthropology and History; and the University of the Peloponnese, Department of History and Culture, and the TEI of the Ionian Islands, Department of Environment Technologists. Her interests include border cultures, social studies, space theory and ecocriticism. She is presently affiliated with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Department of American Literature and edits the volume Ecothinking across the Disciplines: Transnational Interconnections of Nature Studies and the Environmental Humanities.
