Elsa Plakida

Ms Plakida has a BA in English Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an MA in TESL/TESF from Saint Michael’s College, Vermont, US. She has been working as an English teacher for 30 years now, most of which at Arsakeio Primary School of Thessaloniki. She has also been an oral examiner for KPG and Michigan exams and in the past few years for Cambridge esol exams. She has experience with the old Comenius programme and now with the new Erasmus+ programme for school education. She is also an experienced e-Twinner with National and European Quality Labels for her work with her students.

Panagiota Moustaki

Panagiota Moustaki graduated from the Aristotle University School of English Language and Literature. She teaches English at the 2nd Lyceum of Mikra, where  she stays updated on the latest educational trends and developments. Her primary focus is to promote the active participation of her students through various educational programmes such as the Model of United Nations, European Youth Parliament, translation contests, etc. Furthermore, Panagiota finds the role of news streams and social media crucial in the application of an activist learning style since it creates knowledgeable students who will take an active role in society.

While participating in the Active Learners- Active Citizens programme her students felt enthusiastic about being able to  take an active role, express themselves and make their voice be heard through their poems.

Christina Siskou

Christina Siskou holds a BA in English Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an MA in Medieval English Literature from the University of Leeds. She has worked as a teacher of English with students of all ages and levels for 30 years . She currently works for Arsakeio Primary School of Thessaloniki.

Elpiniki Psomataki

Elpiniki Psomataki has been teaching English in Arsakeio Primary School for nearly 25 years to primary and kindergarten students. She is a graduate of the Department of English Language and Literature of  Aristotle University and also holds an MA in Translation from the University of Mons-Hainaut in Belgium. She is an examiner at the University of Cambridge oral exams and has presented new ideas on how to teach English at TESOL Macedonia – Thrace events. 

Popi Gerontidou

Mrs. Gerontidou has been an English teacher at Arsakeio Primary School in Thessaloniki since 2000. She has also been the owner of a private English school (frontistirio) for 20 years (1994-2014). Since 2016 she has been working as an oral examiner for Cambridge.

Katerina Kyriakidou

Ms. Kyriakidou is an English teacher at Arsakeio Primary School in Thessaloniki and holds a Master of Science in Education Management and Organisation. She has been involved with the eTwinning Program for many years and most of her projects have been awarded national and European Quality Labels. In 2018 she received the European Award of Intercultural Understanding for an eTwinning project and in 2019 she was awarded the Educational Innovation Award by the Scientific Association for the Promotion of Educational Innovation. In 2020, she was appointed eTwinning Ambassador by the Greek Ministry of Education.

Fani Vasilikou

Fani Vasilikou is a graduate of the Department of English Language and Literature of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and also holds an MA in Enabling Learning and Educational Inclusion from the Canterbury Christ Church University in UK. She has been teaching in public secondary education for nearly 30 years and has always been keen on motivating students and broadening their horizons through educational programmes and conferences such as the Model of United Nations, translation and Spelling Bee contests and environmental projects.
