“Active Learners Active Citizens” hopes to:

  • Alert
    teacher and learner communities about digital age civics
  • Inspire
    innovative teaching techniques and authentic learner participation
  • Transform
    teaching practices and learner consciousness about the importance of the learners’ activist role

Through its educational activities “Active Learners Active Citizens” aims to

  • teach English for a change, as a way to transform consciousness/practices and correct wrongdoings,
  • raise social awareness of Primary and Secondary Education learners regarding a number of social inequalities,
  • energize skills that will allow teachers and learners to be resilient and stand against challenging times,
  • teach learners techniques in order to confront the problems that they are facing
  • develop learners’ excitement and imagination,
  • teach them how they can change their own realities in the school environment through school projects (whether they are attending on site or online),
  • support lifelong learning,
  • help learners develop their social, communicative and digital skills,
  • include as many learners as possible by creating the opportunities for different learning styles and different skills.
