Thomas Mantzaris holds a Ph.D. in American Literature and Culture from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), and his project examines multimodality and experimentation in the context of contemporary American print fiction. He obtained his B.A. in English Language and Literature from the same university, specializing in American Literature and Culture, and his M.A. in American Literature and Culture from Uppsala University, Sweden. He received a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from The University of Sheffield, U.K. He is a member of the Hellenic Association for American Studies and the Multimodal Research and Reading Group, as well as a Fellow of the U.K. Higher Education Academy. He spent the Spring of 2014 in Nottingham Trent University as a visiting research scholar, after receiving a scholarship from the Greek National Scholarship Foundation. His research interests include contemporary American fiction, multimodality and narrative experimentation, literary theory, and photography.
