Narrating in Whispered Confessions

What is a confession? How can narrative cross the (un)marked borderline between the personal and the communal? Can self-identity be performed in a prompted revelation? A confession is a public statement of one’s frame of mind, a performance of the urge to make one’s life an open book. And through our ‘confessional whispers,’ we explore the possibilities of releasing the mind (body and soul) from the dormant images of the past. This is a two-day workshop on narratives of confession and the art of whispering run by Dr. Sophia Emmanouilidou and Ms. Katerina Kyvetou. We will explore some of the tensions in personal narrative, artless talk and improvisation. The workshop will introduce participants to the many merits of sharing through the creation of unmediated tales of being-in-the world. Our primary focus will be on the creation of discourse where the individual ‘I’ will transform into a collective ‘we’ in the form of a short film narrative produced by the participants.

When: 17 and 24 May 2021 (two sessions)

Βιογραφικό

H Κατερίνα Κυβετού γεννήθηκε στην Ζάκυνθο το 1986. Είναι απόφοιτη του Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών-Τμήμα Θεατρικών Σπουδών (2013) και της Δραματικής Σχολής Εθνικού Θεάτρου (2009). Έχει παρακολουθήσει μαθήματα κλασικού χορού, πιάνου, τραγουδιού. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε θεατρικά σεμινάρια των Π. Μουστάκης (Σωματικότητα του Λόγου), Ε. Σκότη (Ρεαλισμός), Τ. Καρκύκλας (Δραματοποίηση Παραμυθιού), Δ. Δημητριάδης-Ν. Φύτας (Υποκριτική –Αυτοσχεδιασμός σε Ανέκδοτο ‘Εργο) Π .Δεντάκης (Αφήγηση Θεατρικών Κειμένων), Γ. Περλέγκας (Η Μάσκα του Λόγου), Σ. Πάσχου (Σωματικό Θέατρο). Στο θέατρο έχει συνεργαστεί με τους Τ. Λυκουρέσης “Αφιέρωμα στον Δ. Σολωμό”, Ζάκυνθος (2008), Γ. Χριστοδούλου “Χάνσεν και Γκρέτελ”, Ναύπλιο (2009), N. Lormeau “Victor Hugo”,Grand Palais, Παρίσι ,στα πλαίσια συμμετοχής του Πανεπιστημίου Sorbonne Paris 3 (2011), Μ.
