Call for Papers

The 2024 AILA-Europe Junior Researchers Meeting is hosted by the Greek Applied Linguistics Association (GALA). It will take place on 11 October 2024 in Thessaloniki, Greece and is integrated in ICAL17.

Abstract Submission

We invite abstract submissions for oral or poster presentations on any aspect of applied linguistics that should meet the following guidelines:

  • Abstracts must be anonymous and written in English.
  • They should be up to one page long (single spaced, 2.5cm margins on all sides, 12pt Callibri font size). The one-page limit includes any examples, tables, graphs, references, etc.
  • Abstracts should be submitted as PDF files via the Abstract Submission Form. Abstracts submitted via email will not be considered.
  • Authors should indicate whether the abstract is to be considered for an oral presentation, a poster presentation or both. Note that all oral presentations will be 20 minutes, followed by a 10-minute-discussion.
  • There is a limit of up to two abstracts per author (two single-authored papers or one single-authored and one co-authored or two co-authored papers).

IMPORTANT DATES

Deadline for abstract submission: 30 April 20 May 2024
Notification of acceptance/rejection: 15 May 30 June 2024
Registration deadline: 30 June 31 July 2024

Registration

The registration for JR is 85€ and includes:

  • attendance of the JRM and the  GALA (AILA-Greece) Conference
  • coffee breaks and meals (for the three days)
  • Conference folder
  • participation to wine & cheese welcome event

Accommodation

Special rates of accommodation will be offered. Information on accommodation will be available soon on the conference site.
