ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
We invite abstract submissions for oral or poster presentations and proposals for thematic sessions on any aspect of applied linguistics.
Oral or poster presentations
Abstracts should meet the following guidelines:
- Abstracts must be anonymous and written in English or Greek.
- They should be up to one page long (single spaced, 2.5cm margins on all sides, 12pt Callibri font size). The one-page limit includes any examples, tables, graphs, references, etc.
- Abstracts should be submitted as PDF files via the Abstract Submission Form. Abstracts submitted via email will not be considered.
- Authors should indicate whether the abstract is to be considered for an oral presentation, a poster presentation, or both. Note that all oral presentations will be 20 minutes, followed by a 10-minute-discussion.
- There is a limit of up to two abstracts per author (two single-authored papers or one single-authored and one co-authored or two co-authored papers). This restriction applies irrespective of whether papers are submitted to general or thematic sessions.
Thematic Sessions
Thematic sessions will run parallel to oral presentations. Proposals for thematic sessions should be sent to the organisers (gala-ical17@enl.auth.gr) including information on the aims and contribution of the thematic session, number of talks, titles and authors. Proposals should be up to two pages long (single spaced, 2.5 cm margins on all sides and 12pt Calibri font size). The time allotted for each thematic session will depend on the number of talks but cannot exceed 4 hours. Following acceptance of the thematic session, coordinators will be responsible for the abstract reviewing process. Abstracts should be evaluated by two reviewers on the basis of the criteria described in the Abstract Evaluation Form (docx format, pdf format). Abstracts with scores lower than 10 cannot be accepted. Upon completion of the reviewing process, coordinators are required to submit the abstracts and the reviewer’s comments to the organizing committee at gala-ical17@enl.auth.gr.
