In an era of invasive technification in almost all fields of human knowledge and activity, those involved in Translation and Interpreting are required to reflect on how to respond. The emerging space will account for and depend largely upon the abilities of human agents to effectively manage and incorporate cataclysmic changes (both procedural and perceptual) in their translating and interpreting practice, especially when working with languages of lesser diffusion, as in the case of Gree). This working group zooms in translation and interpreting competences in light of these changes at a theoretical as well as practical level to account for Translation and Interpreting as process and product (professional or non-professional) and its impact on language, professionals, users, society, and technology. 

Our working group will focus on the following:

• which competencies are required by language professionals in an all-evolving environment?
• how do competence models in T&I reflect new realities and affect curriculum design?
• how do we approach novel human-to-human interaction (HHI) modes?

We invite interested scholars, professionals and students alike with a vested interest in Translation & Interpreting, Linguistics, Educational Psychology, Cultural Studies, Digital Humanities, Didactics & Pedagogy as well as Software Development to join us in exploring the current landscape, exchanging experiences and brainstorming toward collaborative endeavours.
