This seminar will present a novel-driven corpus linguistics methodology applied to the study of literature. Specifically, it will refer to some of the ways through which Margaret Atwood’s dystopian trilogy, MaddAddam, may be approached and explored using a corpus linguistics analysis tool. Focus will be placed upon certain linguistic (literary) extrapolations and how they may be approached, re-viewed, and recontextualized, taking into account the literary text’s narratological elements and genre.
